August 2026
Hi, My Friend,
How are you doing?
I am doing great!
Joe and I drove to Sharon, PA, the first weekend of August. Joe was going to go fishing on Lake Erie with his brothers and nephews, but due to the rain, it was canceled, so we spent the weekend enjoying our time with one of his brothers we stayed with.
On our way to PA, we stopped a couple of nights in Nashville, TN, to spend the first night joining Warrior Notes Spiritual School on Friday.
On our way back from PA. We stopped in Gatlinburg, TN, and spent a few nights with another of Joe’s brothers up in the mountains overlooking Gatlinburg. We had an enjoyable time.
When we came home, we unpacked to do laundry and pack up again,
When Joe retired from truck driving, he didn’t renew his CDL, and with an opportunity to drive for Warrior Notes, their big truck, we just assumed that he would need to take the written test and renew his CDL. Well, no, the laws in Texas changed, and they said he had to take a class.
So we had to pack up and stay in an Airbnb for five days while he attended class. The class is about 1.5 hours away from our apartment, and he had to be there at 7 am, so that’s why we stayed in an Airbnb. We were grateful that he didn’t have to take the whole six or eight weeks of training, but just four days, and on the fifth day take a driving test.
He passed! Which we expected him to do.
Back on the ranch, Joe and Pastor Jan got the truck up and running. Unfortunately, the battery needed to be replaced, but it was so great to see the truck driving across the ranch.
We don’t know for sure what all the truck will be used for, but it used to move equipment and products to different places. Everything is in place for it to be used again. It’s been sitting for a while because the previous driver had to relocate to be with family.
Back in August 2022, we visited Warrior Notes Spirit School in Hurst, TX, and that was the first time Joe and I saw the Warrior Notes Truck. We both felt in our hearts a desire to drive the truck, and now, four years later, Joe is driving it.

Hurst, TX August 2022.
On the ranch, there are six small rooms, part of the horse stables, that will be used for students to stay in – two per room – who will be receiving training with horses. Those rooms are coming together nicely.
Joe and I were blessed to put bunk beds together in five of those rooms, as Pastor Jan and Dale, amid their busy schedules, put one together in one room.

Other things were done on the ranch, including moving equipment out of the truck into storage containers and a work party on August 29th to finish putting those rooms together with other products to make them functional.
We have some other projects we will be working on this week. Some furniture needs to be assembled in other rooms on the ranch, and the truck’s interior needs to be cleaned after sitting for a while.
Until next time. You are blessed.
