Hi Friend,
Do you catch yourself, or are you aware when you are pointing your finger at someone else to blame them instead of looking deep at yourself?
Let me tell you, it’s so easy to want to point our fingers and blame others instead of looking deep into ourselves.
Since sin entered this world, we have been blaming others instead of looking to ourselves.
We want to point fingers at others instead of pointing them at ourselves, admit that we have made a mistake, and correct it. It seems easier to blame others and manipulate them into changing than to take a closer look at ourselves and change. It’s more painful to look at ourselves and admit that we aren’t perfect. There are times when we look at ourselves and feel condemned, ashamed, and embarrassed, and if we continue to entertain those thoughts, it leads us down a dark path. (I’ll tell you a secret, those aren’t the thoughts of our Heavenly Father, but the adversary) So, it’s just easier to blame others.
The moment sin entered this world, man blamed others. Adam blamed Eve, and Eve blamed the serpent; instead of just admitting the wrong they had done and taking responsibility, they wanted to get the pressure off themselves and point the finger at someone else.
Unfortunately, this has also opened the door for deception, blaming God for things He never did or permitted. The adversary pointed His fingers at God- to get eyes off of him – and has deceived man to think that God has done evil things in this world or has allowed it.
God is a good God, a sovereign God, all-powerful, but He gave man dominion and free will on this earth. Genesis 1:26-28. God is also true to His word, and He will not go back on His word, no matter how much man has made a mess of this world. There will come a time when He will replace this world with a new one, but in the meantime, man makes choices.
Through man’s choice, evil has entered this world. We know the story of how Adam and Eve in Genesis 2 and 3 ate the fruit of the tree. Growing up, they told us it was an apple, haha, I don’t know what kind of fruit, but we knew it was a fruit according to the scriptures. So through their choices of free will, they opened up the door for satan to come and be a god of this world, bringing all kinds of evil through sin. But praise God, He made a way to redeem us through His precious Son, our big brother, by the shedding of His sacred blood. Redeeming us from the curse of this world, not just through salvation, but walking in redemption in every area of our lives. Another whole message about the precious blood bought gift given to us.
Satan has deceived us into believing that sickness, poverty, and whatever evil, painful things that transpire in our lives were God’s will. It’s devastating. Matthew 7:11 says that men on earth know how to give good to their children; how much more does God give to His? And it’s the goodness of God that leads to repentance, according to Romans 2:4.
How devastating it would be if someone convinced someone you love dearly that you are evil, and that the wrongs in their life were caused by you, when it was caused by the one deceiving that loved one. Well, that is precisely what happened to our Heavenly Father, the father of lies, who has deceived men into thinking that sickness and poverty are the will of God, to humble us, teach us something. But if Heaven doesn’t have those evil things, then why would God project those evil things upon his children on earth? If Adam and Eve didn’t experience those evil things before they ate the fruit, then why would we think God would change and allow those evil things now?
Man made a choice. They handed over their authority of dominion to the adversary when he tricked them, which opened the door for all evil to come on earth. God has a perfect will for us, and we mess it up, but through His love, He made a way for us to regain our authority —not without a fight, though. We know we have the victory because Jesus has overcome the world, according to John 16:33.
We want to blame others, instead of looking deep in ourselves, because the god of this world does, and his evil presence influences us to walk the way he does. So, we have to do everything we can to resist his influence and to act on what God says in His Word.
We need to look at our own actions and decisions, not blame others or God. We take a deep look at the decisions we make and how they affect our lives. When we face sickness, we don’t declare that it’s God’s will because He is a loving God who wants to give us life, and satan comes to kill and destroy, according to John 10:10. We look into our own heart to see if we truly believe in the gift of healing that’s available to everyone. We can know it in our minds, but we have to know it deep in our hearts. We receive our healing through our spirit man, not our intellect, because God deals with us through our spirit.
I know it’s popular in the religion, with the Job statement that God gives and takes away. Well, there is no other scripture to validate that. Job said it during a time of distress and later admitted he was wrong, and that the trouble that came upon him was due to fear, according to Job 3:25. He was afraid for his children. He prayed in fear and not in faith, which opened the door for the adversity to bring destruction upon his life. People say, “Well, God permitted Satan to do so. ” There is a whole message about our authority and the authority of God and satan.
God gave man authority on earth, and whatever man permits, God permits. When we walk in fear, then we open up the door for satan to come and bring upon us the very thing we fear, because that’s the fruit of the evil that satan walks in. Faith is the fruit of God’s kingdom, and when we walk in faith, resisting fear, Satan has no authority to impose his evil schemes on us. When we realize we walk in fear, we can boldly go into the throne room of Grace, according to Hebrews 4:16, to repent and allow the blood of Jesus to cover it and keep satan from using it against us.
Remember, repenting means to change. To change the way you think and act, and to do the opposite of what you were doing. To change your life to line up with what God’s Word says. To transform your mind to the ways of our Heavnly Father. Renew your mind on His Word.
I have gone on a rabbit trail, which is so easy to do. When talking about a subject, it ties into another one, and so on and so on.
The bottom line is, we need to stop blaming others and God — like the god of this world does — and look deep within ourselves and take responsibility for our own decisions. We have to be responsible for transforming our minds by God’s Word so it manifests in our lives. God did everything He said He would do, and it’s up to us to line up with Him by submitting to Him and resisting the adversary, as James 4:7 says.
Our beloved Holy Spirit is here to help us and bring comfort when we choose to look deep within ourselves and take responsibility for our own decisions, whether we choose to trust God or walk in anxiety, fear, and unbelief. The Holy Spirit will not condemn us -that is what the adversary does – He will comfort us and help us. Take to heart that when we walk in unbelief, we open the door for the adversary to bring destruction into our lives. So submit to God by trusting in Him, resist the adversity, and the adversity will flee.
Choose not to blame others, and especially God. Look to your own heart of belief and take responsibility to align yourself with God’s Word.
You are loved and on your way to fulfill God’s beautiful purpose and plan for your life.
