I was telling my flesh what it’s going to eat or not eat, what it’s going to read or not read. It started screaming at me what it was going to do.
I have given into the tantrum fits of my flesh too much of late. I allow it to dictate my life instead of my Spirit man through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Allowing my flesh to dictate my decisions strongly indicates not living in complete surrender to the heart of God. My flesh is ruling as Lord over my life instead of the true and only God to be Lord.
Walking in rebellion toward the word of God, for it tells us not to have any other god before the true and only God.
1 Cor 9:27 but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control, ….. (TPT) But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it,….(AMPC)
The first commandments of Exodus 20:3, “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
When I allow my flesh to have the final say instead of what the Holy Spirit leads me to do, I let my flesh be the Lord of my life, walking in rebellion.
Rebellion is a form of witchcraft.
1 Samuel 15:23 (AMC)
For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is like idolatry…..
Holy Spirit, I ask you to give me a profound revelation of how rebellion is a form of witchcraft that I may become appalled by and walk away from.
I choose to crucify my flesh on the cross. I am surrendering my heart to the heart of God and allowing Him to be Lord of my life, giving Him the final say.
The more I crucify my flesh, the weaker it becomes, and the stronger my Spirit man becomes, bringing life into my soul.
The more I let the flesh rule, saying I will crucify it tomorrow, the more dominant it becomes, bringing destruction into my life.
The daily life of repenting is what I choose. Choosing to surrender my heart to the heart of God every moment my flesh throws a fight – a fight of faith I win.
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your help and strength when I need it, for being by my side, for you never leave or forsake me.
Hebrews 13:5 (TPT
……For hasn’t he promised you, “I will never leave you, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!”
I appreciate knowing you are within me and more significant than the one of this world, which also indicates greater than my flesh.
1 John 4:4 TPT
Little children, you can be sure that you belong to God and have conquered them, for the One who is living in you is far greater than the one who is in the world.
The strength you give me at the moment I need as I conquer my flesh is explosive power when I tap into it.
Philippians 4:13 (TPT)
And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.
I so appreciate your mercy being new every morning as I embark on the journey of dying daily to my flesh, living day-to-day, completely surrendering my heart to the heart of God.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMPC)
It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.
Thank you, Lord, for helping me conquer my flesh, silencing the screams, and allowing the voice of my Spirit man to become louder and more robust, dictating my life through the Holy Spirit.
Ponder and study this scripture.
Galatians 5:16-18 ( TPT)
Let me emphasize this: As you yield to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self-life. When your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit you hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your self-life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self-life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit. But when you yield to the life of the Spirit, you will no longer be living under the law, but soaring above it!
