A Daily Rhythm of Thinking About Him
Have you ever found yourself so busy during the day that you don’t think about Jesus, our Lord, who has given us life to live, except maybe in the mornings with your devotions time with Him, or at night when you lay your head upon the pillow?
Think about it, He is the reason we are alive today. he and our heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father is our creator, who has given us everything that pertain unto life and godliness.
Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness. As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises we can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world. 2 Peter 1:3-4 (TPT)
I am coming to a realization that if I am going to experience the life that Jesus died on the cross for me to live. He gave himself not just as a savior, but as my healer in every area of my life, and redeemed me. He is someone I need to acknowledge in most of my thoughts and whom I need to honor most with my time.
So I need to be more mindful of Jesus and what He has done, to acknowledge my Heavenly Father as my creator, and to acknowledge the Holy Spirit as my comforter. I need to keep them in the forefront of my mind in every decision I make and invite them into my life by living for Him and following their plans for my life. Invite them to do chores around the house with me, driving the car, going shopping etc…
As I train myself to keep the trinity at the forefront of my mind and in my heart, my Husband and I have set timers on our phones to go off 7 times a day. It runs from 8 am to 8 pm, going off every 2 hours. When those times go off, we stop with whatever we are doing at the moment and just take a moment to think upon our precious Jesus to glorify Him with thanksgiving and honor that’s due to Him
This is something we were inspired by Rick Renner, at Renner Ministries, who talked about the different things he does every day to keep Jesus in the forefront of his life. He talked about where King David said in Psalm 119:164 Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules.“ So, we decided to do this too. You can listen to the message on YouTube here.
And it’s been great. This is only the beginning; I want to come to a place where Jesus is on my mind in everything I do in life.
Would you like to join me in setting a timer on your phone for 7 minutes a day as a reminder to take a few seconds or minutes to stop and glorify our Heavenly Father, Jesus, and to thank the Holy Spirit for being with us? We have our set at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, and 8 pm.
I hope you join me in doing this. Email me at HeartTalkswithKristi@gmail.com if you decide to do so.
Keep pursuing His heart in the quiet places. Keep living the story He lovingly penned. Keep running your race — steady, surrendered, and strong.
