I grew up as an avid reader. If I weren’t at school, church, or friends, you would find me on my bed with my nose buried in a Christian historical romance book – historical is my favorite. Sometimes, I would like to change it up and read Christian contemporary.
In my pre-teens years, the author, Janette Oke, was my all-time favorite and the Ann of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery. . Then, in my teen years, I devoted Bodie and Brock Thorne’s, and Gilbert Morris’ books. I also enjoyed a time reading Lori Wick’s and Grace Livingston Hill’s Books.
As I grew into my young adult years, my reading expanded into more authors to enjoy and allow their writings to drift me into another time and era. I would be so caught up in the enjoyment of reading that the characters became my friends, and when I would share the story of the book I was reading with others, they would comment that I had made those characters seem as though they were real people, my real friends.
Here are the list of some of my favorite authors, besides the ones I mention earlier:
Lynn Austin, Tamera Alenander, Deeanne Gist, Jan Karon, Judith Miller, Stephanie Grace Whitson, Ann Tatlock, Julie Lessman, and Julie Klassen.
Those who I have enjoyed, also:
Josh S. Kilpack, Melody Carlson, Regina Scott, Angela Hunt, Francine Rivers, Robin Lee Hatcher, Kristen Heitzmann, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Laraine Snelling, Nancy Moser, Cathy Marie Hake, Colleen Coble, Mary Connealy, Melanie Dobson, Shelley Shepard Gray, Amand Cabot, Jill Eleen Smith, Jocelyn Green, Laura Frantz, Melanie Dickerson, Jody Hedlund, Tessa Afshar, Meso Andrews, Dorothy Love, Elizabeth Camden, Sarah M.
