Love –
We have been looking at a portion of 1 Corinthians 13, using the Amplified Translation.
Today, we will be focusing on Love Does Not Rejoice in Injustice But in Truth
Rejoice – to be glad; take delight (often followed
Injustice – the quality or fact of being unjust; inequity. violation of the rights of others; unjust or unfair action or treatment. an unjust or unfair act; wrong.
Truth – actual state of a matter: conformity with fact or reality; verity:
In other words, love doesn’t rejoice in evil but in truth.
Pure, true love rejoices in what is proper. Love doesn’t cover up sin and seeks a way to justify wrongdoing. Love doesn’t try to find ways to behold ungodly behavior.
One gloating over another one guilt shows they are not walking in love.
Someone rejoicing when an enemy is caught guilty, not founded in love, but a heart that’s humble with gratefulness for justice done. One’s attitude of wanting the enemy set free in God is established in love.
We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities operating through different individuals choosing to do evil.
We rejoice in virtue of another and not in vices; that’s what we find in one walking in love.
Love celebrates godly behavior. Love treasures truth, for true love has nothing to hide.
They are celebrating the truth of God’s Word received by others and their enlightenment.
We are to check our hearts daily, exposing ourselves before the Holy Spirit for Him to bring before us of awareness.
We may find ourselves rejoicing in evil-doing because when we see evil done by another who is caught or falls, we can easily find ourselves rejoicing instead of wanting to see the evil-doing individual repent and change.
Our hearts should only continue to rejoice in truth and desire to see those operating in evil ways be set free.
As we learn more of God’s love, the more we can bestow upon those around us, and the more we find ourselves walking in love as God does.
Rejoice in truth!!
