Love –
The Greek language distinguishes at least six different ways as to how the word love is used.
Agape – is the most popular one used in the Christian world, to express the unconditional love of our Beloved, Heavenly Father.
Together, we look at the famous love chapter in the Bible for the next several weeks—a portion of 1 Corinthians 13. I will be using the Amplified Translation. You are free to look at different translations of your preference.
4 Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].8 Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.
Today, we will be focusing on Love Bears All Things and Never Fails
Love will never fail you
We find that Love Bears through it. Love upholds in times of pressure.
Love preserves through times when accusations come against our family and us.
When we stay in Love, grace can give us the strength to bear through any trials or temptations that come our way.
With our hearts choosing to walk in Love toward others and ourselves, we can overlook failures and mistakes because Love never fails.
Love seeks goodness in others and ourselves.
Yes, we need to see the goodness in us, too. We need to stop beating ourselves up when we make a mistake.
The only way we can walk in this kind of Love is by having a deep, intimate relationship with Love, our beloved, heavenly Father, who is Love.
His Love gives us the grace and ability to extend Love. We can’t become something if we don’t know the details of what it contains.
We can’t become Love without first having a complete understanding of Love.
As we grow and mature in our walk with the Lord, we will experience more and more of the unfailing Love He is and the manifestation of it flowing through us to those around us.
The only way we can know His Love is by communicating with Him throughout the day, every day. We are inviting Him in every moment of our time.
We are to test every motive and attitude we bestow through Love. When we realize we aren’t walking in Love, we repent and choose to walk in Love. There is no condemnation, just conviction.
As we mature in the Lord, we will find that Love bears everything and never fails.
Love triumphs through it all.
