For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Living with Fear slowly destroys you, emotionally, mentally, and physically and it’s exhausting.
It quietly robs you of a healthy, happy, peaceful, and long life.
Fear is the root of stress, anxiety, worry, doubt, concern, depression, insecurities, and feelings of rejection, to name a few, as the list can go on and on.
We are not to live a life of fear and can resist it. It’s a choice we have to make daily.
We are not to live in fear.
The scriptures clearly instruct us not to be in fear.
To share a few:
Isaiah 41:10 says, So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God…..
Joshua 1:9 says, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged…
Matthew 6:25-34 says, do not worry about your life…..can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life……Father knows that you need them, but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you….
Philippians 4:6-7 says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind….
We overcome fear by walking in faith and trusting God and His Word.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Mark 11:22 says, Have faith in God. Hebrews 11:6 says, But without faith, it is impossible to please Him (God)….
We choose if we will walk in fear – in any form it comes – or walk in faith by trusting in God.
In 2010, I experienced a major panic attack that was horrendous because I had been living in fear daily for some years.
I haven’t experienced any since then, after taking time to saturate myself in the Word and receive healing and making it a daily choice to resist fear and walk in faith by putting my trust in God.
I had to overcome fear in other areas of my life, especially when it came to the health and protection of the lives of my children.
I spent six months listening to teaching in my car whenever I went somewhere, on Psalms 91, Under His Shadow, by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, until I had a breakthrough.
I am choosing not to watch the news because of the destruction.
Destructions have always been around, but the media puts a lot of emphasis on the damages. I emerge more into listening to the statements from other believers from the churches around where the destructions have taken place, who have shared about how the Lord has protected them in the midst of it or directed them in a different direction and missed the destruction. The media doesn’t understand and emphasizes those preserved in the middle of the destructiveness.
I don’t put my head in the sand and ignore what’s happening. I do get a glimpse of what’s going on. I don’t dwell on it, but I stay on the Word of God and saturate myself in the scriptures about His protection.
You can do this; you can resist fear, overcome all the obstacles that are fear-related, and be free. You can choose to be Living Without Fear.
I believe in you, and most of all, Jesus believes in you and has given you the power and authority to resist fear and live a life of peace.
You must choose daily to saturate yourself in God’s Word, renewing your mind and entering into His peace.
“He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
